Page Sponsors: Photographer Bio: World class yachting photographer, Onne van der Wal, has used his extensive sailing experience to his advantage. During the 1981-82 Whitbread Around the World Race, Onne paired his photographic skills with his sailing skills shooting his first major magazine article for American sailing journal, SAIL Magazine. Since that time, Onne has used his keen eye to capture the Òbehind the scenesÓ look and feel of the yachting world. His love for travel, beautiful yachts and first-rate photography take him around the world to exotic destinations on assignments where he is able to combine these passions. A Dutch native raised in South Africa, Onne now bases his business in Newport, Rhode Island where he fills his summers with commercial and editorial photography assignments, and travels extensively during the New England winters. Onne lives in Jamestown, RI with his wife and family and enjoys spending his free time fishing, camping, bodysurfing and tinkering in his workshop. |
